ABC Slide Library and ABC-Trauma Slide Kit

The European Medical Education Initiatives on Advanced Bleeding Care (ABC) and Advanced Bleeding Care in Trauma (ABC-T) have developed this collection of educational slides for all health professionals who manage critically bleeding patients.

Together, the ABC and ABC-T slides provide comprehensive information on optimised bleeding and trauma care for daily practice, the "state-of-the-art" as well as foreseeable future developments.

The objectives of the ABC Slide Library (first developed in 2004, updated in 2005 and 2008) are

• to explain the aetiology of critical bleeding and the challenges of treating it
• to identify currently available options in the management of critically bleeding patients
• to discuss new concepts for coagulation and new therapeutic options   

To supplement the ABC Slide Library with respect to trauma, the ABC-T Slide Kit was developed in 2005 and updated in 2006. The development of the slides meets the requirements for continuing medical education (CME).

Some of the slides in this library may discuss the use of agents that may not yet be approved in your country for the applications described.
