Medical Education Initiative on "Advanced Bleeding Care"
The European Medical Education Initiative on Advanced Bleeding Care (ABC) was founded in 2003 with the aim of:
- Developing an educational curriculum in the area of advanced bleeding care.
- Ensuring high quality medical education for medical specialists that treat critically bleeding patients, such as
- Anaesthesiologists
- Intensive care specialists
- Haematologists
- Design the educational material in agreement with existing regulations for continuing medical education (CME).
- Involve specialists from different European countries as members of a European education faculty.
This faculty was and is continually involved in the development and the updating of a slide library to reflect the most recent data and publications and to meet the specific needs of present and future educational activities on the national level.
Therefore, the library, which was developed in 2004, was updated in 2005 to comply with its high educational standard.
Further activities of the initiative include major societies, congresses and publications (see ABC activities for details).
